FABLON FRENZY!!!!!

not posted for a while and guess what, still not sorted out the craftroom/study

have bought a very useful drawer unit that I've put my paper & card in...all sorted by colour!

I have however, started covering things in Fablon....a cool pink, white, purple candy stripe design! I have covered my little chest of drawers from Ikea, several boxes, a cotton bud container (!!) which was empty & I thought it could be useful!. I have my eye on a couple more boxes and some files.

aarrgghh scrapbooking

I love scrapping, don't get me wrong and I'm so pleased to have found & joined UKS...but....there is another weekly challenge and I just HAD to take part in it and it's sidetracked me from tidying the study. :)

Yep, still not done it...but I have done 2 lovely layouts for the Winnie the Pooh challenge!!!

pic of Honey the rat (the Pooh connection!) and me on a donkey (Eeyore!!)

I have managed to clear a bit of my desk though...to be honest, it was just so I could have room to do the layout!!!

well, back to the tidying

My first UKS challenge

woo! I've only been a member of UKS for 10 days and have taken part in the August week 3 challenge. A layout using the colours turquoise, red, white, blue, yellow, black. A black & white/heritage photo, something metal and a secret stash of journalling

here is my layout. My favourite pic of me & Nan taken in 1969. Yellow was her favourite colour. The metal is the heart in the fllower and the journalling is on the back of the red square...'My Nana, my friend, my teacher, I miss you so much x'

I waiting for a yellow album to make a scrapbook of my lovely Nan, so this will be a page in it. I will probably post pics of the various layouts when they're done.

THE STUDY

well I did try to tidy it yesterday, honest I did. But I just get so distracted by bits or pretty ribbon and fancy paper and the next thing I know, I've made another card. I can't help it...I'm addicted!

this afternoon
I have at last made a start on the study. I've actually used some of the boxes I had delivered on Friday to store my paper and I've sorted all my ribbons...which I'm rather pleased about.
I've put the rolls of ribbon in a couple of boxes my Converse baseball boots came in. It's worked really well...the ribbons are hanging over the edge, the lid is closed and I can pull the desired length of ribbon from the box.

I've wound the loose ribbons onto pieces of card....matching the colours and put odd rolls in a box that I've covered in purple paper....I'd like to store these in a box too, so it's a good excuse to buy another pair of my favourite shoes!!

Saturday 18 August 2007

yesterday I had a delivery of my DCWV paper stacks from Ellison (bargain) and my ribbons from Ribbon Oasis.

Had to have a play with them straight away and made these cards. The orange & yellow one is just a random birthday card, the other one is the one for my mother-in-law's birthday next week

I MUST tidy up the study today. There's boxes on the floor and my desk is a complete nightmare. I had a delivery of paper storage boxes and die storage yesterday, so there is no excuse...but I'd much rather surf the internet & see what other crafty bits I can buy!
NO...I must stop!! It's like a drug, this card making & scrapbooking, one go and you're hooked, till it spirals out of control and you have no life apart from crafting anything out of any bits of paper or ribbon. Till your hands seem to be permanently covered in glue & shiny things, when every bit of paper or card you see, you find yourself thinking of album layouts or cards to make.
right, I need a coffee and another piece of toast..then I WILL tidy the study
